The amount of oxygen carried in the blood as a percentage of the amount possible. A 90% oxygen saturation or greater is considered an adequate amount of oxygen. It is the percentage of oxygen-binding sites in blood (the red blood cells hemoglobin) that are combined with Oxygen.
