Partial Pressure (of a gas)

In a mixture of gases the total pressure is the sum of the pressures exerted by the individual gases. The pressure of the individual gas will be a portion of the total pressure.  The pressure of the individual gas exerts is the Partial Pressure of that gas.

Partial pressure is expressed as millimeter of mercury (mmHg) or Torr.
