Impulse control Disorder

A condition where a person seems to loose control of their normal behavior pattern and become overly focused on and repeatedly carrying out an often-destructive behavior.  It is seen as a complication of therapy with dopamine agonist medication. The behavior may be what is termed ‘Punding.’  Punding includes such behaviors as repeated excessive cleaning, taking things apart and then putting together again or other non-problematic behaviors.  The destructive behaviors include pathological gambling (to the extent of leading to bankruptcy), pathological shopping, and hypersexual behaviors.
