Maxillomandibular advancement

A surgical procedure for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.  The procedure includes separating (breaking ) the jaw (mandible) and advancing it.  The maxilla is separated from the skull and advanced.  These two steps increase the space in the nasal and oral pharynx.
